if you like snow, that is. It’s a balmy +4, a smattering of snow on the ground, as though Winter’s sprinkling thick flakes of snow like sugar on a cake (Can you tell I’m hungry?).

Regarding the last post comments: Annie, my God! You’re absolutely right. I never thought of the bogie factor!! Thank God that I have you to set me straight on these things.

I’m inspired. I shall head to the mall straight away and buy a pair of ankle boots – and you’re absolutely correct, they would fit somewhere around the thighs (hence, I shan’t have to buy long underwear), and practice dainty steps.

I did find yet another benefit to being of small stature: we went for a trek through Twilleger Park. It’s a beautiful off-leash area for our dogs with loads of trails. We decided to hike through the woods today (okay, so it wasn’t really a hike. It was a well-choreographed dance: one step, two step, stop, turn, where are the dogs? Ah there they are, stop, wait, let them sniff, turn, slide on ice, do a strange sound somewhere between a squeak, gasp, and shriek, turn, check to make sure only husband saw, roll eyes as he laughs, accept hug, turn, step, step, wait, etc. etc.).

Anyway, we (the two footed creatures) decided to stick close to the trees so we could use the snow for footing. And I found benefit of being small. Husband forced to duck and weave – which frankly, added a certain je ne sais quois to the dance. I, however, managed to avoid all branches.

On another note, no pun intended, I have music (hopefully) for all.

The past Friday, I woke up to John Legend crooning, and tried to pass it on to all my writing friends because it made me feel good and I hoped that it would make them feel good. Annie, India, I don’t have your emails, so here are the lyrics:

Chorus:Don’t you worry bout a thing (2x) Mama
Cause I’ll be standing on the side when you check it out

You say your style of life’s a drag,
And that you must go other places,
But just don’t you feel too bad,
When you get fooled by smiling faces,

Everybody needs a changeA chance to check out the new
But you’re the only one to see
The changes you take yourself through
Chorus: Don’t you worry ’bout a thing (2x)Pretty Mama
Cause I’ll be standing on the sides when you check it out Don’t you worry
bout a thing.

Sadly, the lyrics miss something without the melody. But it’s such a lovely, bright song and it always makes me feel like everything’s going to be okay. It’s on the Hitch soundtrack.

Today, I came across three songs that made me feel like dancing – though one, ironically, is called “I don’t feel like dancing.”

Wishing everyone a fantastically brilliant week.
