So, you know that I’ve been editing and preparing my novel for submission. I thought that things were going well. Then I got to chapter 5 and realized that I had a terrible problem: I’m using the word, œthat too many times in that chapter. It’s not that I do it on purpose. It just seems that I can’t help myself.

So I’m sending off my chapter to my critique partners in the hopes that they will be able to help me eradicate that word that is clogging up my work. I think that I mention œthat about 26 times. I’d like to get that number down, or at least know that I’ve used the word properly. Thank God that I have friends who’ll help me work it out. And thank God that I don’t use that word a lot in my every day speech. Now THAT would be a problem.
