It’s hard to figure out how long I’ve been writing…I mean, I sort of started in 2003 but in my mind, I didn’t really become a writer (as defined by the attitude I brought to the work & the manuscripts) until 2005/2006…it’s been 7 or 8 years now, and there’s been a ton of ups and downs, tens of thousands of pages, and loads of ink cartridges…but you know what never fades? The excitement when I start a new book.

I’m getting set to begin the second of the Dead Falls series & no kidding, I got goosebumps. I’m SO EXCITED to see what happens and how the characters (and my writing evolve), and truthfully, I need to hold to this feeling, reference it when the pages don’t work or when the plot’s falling apart, I need to remember the fluttering in my tummy and the unflinching conviction that I have the best job in the world.
